Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Tavelino ("Tavelino", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Tavelino mobile app (the "App"). By using the App you agree to this policy.
No account required
Tavelino does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, or password. When you first open the App, we create an anonymous identifier for your device so the App can work and so we can apply fair-use limits. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.
Information we process
- Photos you submit. When you scan your fridge or pantry, the photo is sent to our servers and to our AI provider (Google) to identify ingredients and suggest recipes. Photos are used to generate your results and are not used to identify you or sold to anyone.
- Ingredients and preferences. Items you add and choices you make (such as dietary filters or cooking time) are processed to return relevant recipes.
- Usage data. We count actions (such as scans and recipe searches) per device to enforce limits and prevent abuse.
- Advertising data. In the free, ad-supported version, our advertising provider (Google AdMob) may process device and advertising identifiers to show and measure ads.
- Purchases. If you subscribe, the transaction is handled by Apple. We receive confirmation that a subscription is active; we do not receive your payment card details.
Service providers
We share information only as needed with providers that help us run the App:
- Google (Gemini AI) — analyzes your photos and helps generate recipe suggestions.
- Supabase — database and image storage for the recipe catalog.
- Fly.io — hosting for our backend.
- Google AdMob — advertising in the free version.
- Apple — subscription payments and delivery.
Recipe content
Recipes are gathered from publicly available cooking websites and shown with a link back to the original source. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
Retention
Scan photos are processed to produce your results and are not retained as a long-term personal profile. Aggregate, non-identifying recipe and usage data may be kept to operate and improve the App.
Your choices and rights
Because the App is anonymous, we generally cannot connect data to a specific person. You can reset your anonymous identifier by reinstalling the App, and you can limit ad tracking in your device settings. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access or delete information — contact us and we will help where we can.
Children
Tavelino is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their information.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our providers operate.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
